Who We Are
On April 1, 2005, a group of theater enthusiasts founded the Amateur Theater in Boston, and in August of the same year they registered the Polish Amateur Theater of Boston as a non‑profit organization. Well, it has begun!
The first performance was a play by Anna Onichimowska “Room for Rent”, which the theater presented with great success twice in 2005/2006. Since then every year the Polish Amateur Theater in Boston presents a new play. A total of 45 amateur actors have performed on the Boston stage for the next seventeen years. Some players were associated with the theatre for many years, others appeared in only one play. Many of the founding members are still active today.
Since its establishment, the Polish Amateur Theater has been associated with the parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa in South Boston. It is on the stage of the parish school auditorium that rehearsals and performances take place. Like any non‑profit organization, our activities are supported by multiple organisations, including Polish American sponsors, the Polish Culture Foundation, Zyggie’s Tour, Batlic Deli and many more.
More information about the theatre can be seen in the presentation (in Polish), click here.
